Storm Chasers Donate to Washington Illinois Tornado Victims

Storm Chasers Donate to Washington Illinois Tornado Victims

On Thursday, December 19th, 2013 Storm Assist’s Adam Lucio and fellow storm chaser Danny Neal went to the town of Washington, IL to deliver a Storm Assist donation after a town meeting.   The meeting consisted of representatives from FEMA, insurance companies, contractors and other individuals working to help with recovery from the EF-4 tornado that devastated the town on November 17th, 2013.
After the meeting, Lucio was able to deliver the Storm Assist donation of $2250 to the Mayor, Gary Manier.

“”It felt nice to be able to hand deliver this to the people who needed it most. It was a crowded event, and when people saw me hand him the check they began pointing and smiling. I could tell they definitely appreciated it.”

There is still a lot of work to be done in the town of Washington, IL.   After delivering the check, Adam and Danny took a short drive through the main damage path.  They described large piles of debris still lining the streets.  Lucio says, “They have only just begun.”

A huge “thank-you!” to everyone who purchased the November 17th t-shirts and made donations.  We couldn’t do it without all of you.
